Kids
I was spraying Febreeze in/on my slippers (because they needed it - badly.) Daniel asked what I was doing. I told him I was spraying a fabric freshener on them. He asked why. I said because they needed it. He asked why they needed it. I held the un-sprayed on out towards him. He stuck his nose right up to it & sniffed, then made an appropriate groan. Kayla then said, "I want to smell!" I let her, and she groaned. Then Rachel said SHE wanted to smell it. So I let her, too.

Ah, kids. At least they're wanting to share!! ;-)

It's been a heck of a couple of weeks. And it'll be another day or two before I can truly rest up from it.

It started on Tuesday the 24th (yes, 2 days before Thanksgiving.) I had hernia surgery. It went well, thankfully. It just meant I wasn't moving too well on Thanksgiving, and actually DIDN'T stuff myself for once. ;-)

The Saturday after Thanksgiving: 2 1/2 hour ride to my in-laws'. My wife's grandmother was dying, and word had been sent out for everyone who could get there to do so ASAP. Everyone who was coming arrived that day. Her grandmother passed away the next morning, as if she'd been waiting for everyone to arrive. She was 94 years old, and lived a good, full life. We had been planning on coming back home that day, but we stayed until Monday.

Came back home Monday, to find a roast in the crock pot, ready to eat (thanks, Mom!) After supper, Karen took the kids to their swim lessons.

Tuesday, I felt well enough to drive my car for a little while (with permission from the surgeon's office,) even though I was starting to fight a cold (which I still have.)

Wednesday, we took the kids out of school early (aroung 1pm) then headed back to my in-laws' for the funeral. Thursday morning was the wake, the funeral, then one heck of a luncheon & time visiting with friends & some more family that came back.

Friday, Karen helped her Mom & sister do some cleaning at her grandmother's house, then we left around noon to come home. We dropped the kids off at my parents, dropped a couple of things off at the house, and went to my follow-up appointment from the surgery (if not for that, we'd have stayed for the weekend.) Then, after supper, I took Daniel to Cedar Rapids (about 30 minutes away) to a hockey game with his Cub Scout Pack. That was a lot of fun, but we didn't get home until around 10:00.

Woke up today, and I'm in the process of making breakfast for everyone (breakfast scramble.) Today, we're planning on setting up the Christmas tree, and working on a few things around the house (I can't lift anything heavy, but I can do light work.)

I'm not sure what's on the plans for tomorrow yet, but Monday, I plan on doing VERY little! ;-)
